What counts as a study gap
The time between finishing your last qualification (for example +2 or a bachelor's degree) and starting your UK course. How the gap is counted can differ, so confirm it for your own dates.
Limits vary by institution and route
Each institution sets its own acceptable gap, and it can be different for foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate routes. Some flyers do not state a limit at all — that does not mean there is none.

If you have a gap, institutions commonly ask what you did during it — for example an employment or experience letter, payslips, or certificates from courses or training.
