Frequently asked questions
General guidance only. Your options depend on your own background, so the NepliFly team confirms the details with you.
Is submitting an enquiry the same as applying to a university?
No. An enquiry lets the NepliFly team understand your background and goals so we can contact you about suitable options. It is not a university application and does not reserve a place.
How much does it cost to study in the UK?
Tuition depends on the university, the course and the route. The fees on this website come from institution intake flyers and are shown per route, not per course. Living costs are separate — the UK government publishes the money you must show for a Student visa on GOV.UK.
When are the UK intakes?
Most UK universities start in September, with a second main intake in January. Some institutions also offer February, March, May or November starts. See the intakes page for the intakes currently listed.
Do I need IELTS?
Most institutions ask for an English test such as IELTS, PTE or Duolingo. Some accept a waiver based on your Grade 12 English result or a medium-of-instruction letter. Requirements differ by institution and route, so we check them with you.
Can I apply with a study gap?
Many institutions accept a gap if you can explain and evidence it. The accepted gap varies by institution and route. Share your situation in the enquiry form and we will advise on suitable options.
Are scholarships guaranteed?
No. Scholarships and discounts are set by each institution, can change, and usually depend on your grades, intake and how early you apply. We only list what the institution has published.
What documents will I need?
Typically academic transcripts and certificates, an English test result or waiver evidence, a passport, and later financial documents for the visa. Do not send documents through the website — the team will tell you exactly what is needed when they contact you.
What is a CAS and how does the student visa work?
A Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) is issued by your university once you accept an unconditional offer and meet its conditions. You use it to apply for a UK Student visa. Visa rules are set by the UK government — read the current guidance on GOV.UK. NepliFly does not give individual immigration advice or guarantee a visa outcome.
What does NepliFly actually do?
NepliFly helps students in Nepal explore UK universities, pathway colleges and study centres, and puts them in touch with the institutions listed on this site. We are not a university and we do not make admission decisions — the institution does.
What is a pathway college or study centre?
A pathway college or study centre prepares international students for entry to a partner university, often on or near its campus. The degree is awarded by the university, not the college. Where a route works this way, the awarding university is named on the institution's page.
Which parts of the UK do the listed institutions cover?
The institutions on this site are spread across England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland and London. You can filter by location on the universities page.
Which English tests are accepted?
Most institutions accept IELTS (UKVI or Academic) and PTE, and many also accept Duolingo or Oxford tests. Which ones count, and the score needed, is set by each institution and can differ by route — always confirm with the team before booking a test.
What grades do I need?
Entry requirements are set per route, not per student, and the published requirement is shown beside each one. The entry requirements checker compares your grades, English score and study gap against what each route publishes.
What is the difference between foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate?
A foundation or pathway year prepares you for the first year of a degree. An undergraduate degree is usually three years in England, Wales and Northern Ireland and four in Scotland. Most taught postgraduate degrees take one year full time. The Study in the UK guide sets out each level.
Are the fees shown on this site final?
No. The fees here come from institution intake flyers and are shown per route rather than per course. They are indicative, can change, and do not include living costs or visa costs. Always confirm the current fee with NepliFly and the institution before you commit.
Will I need to pay a deposit?
Most institutions ask for a tuition deposit after you accept an offer and before they issue a CAS. The amount and the deadline are set by the institution; where one has published them, they appear on that institution's page.
Do scholarships apply to every course?
No. Awards are published per route and often exclude certain subjects or apply only at one level or intake. The conditions are listed beside each award on the scholarships page, exactly as the institution published them.
How much money do I need to show for the visa?
The amount, and how long you must have held it, are set by the UK government and depend on where you will study. The current figures are published on GOV.UK. Do not rely on figures quoted anywhere else, including here.
When do I apply for the Student visa?
After the institution issues your CAS, which follows your offer and any deposit. The earliest you can apply, and how long a decision takes, are set by the UK government and published on GOV.UK.
Can NepliFly advise me on my visa application?
No. NepliFly gives general guidance about studying in the UK and does not give individual immigration advice or guarantee any visa outcome. Immigration rules are set by the UK government and published on GOV.UK.
